Finn Dixon & Herling Elects Tanyee Cheung as Partner, Elevates William M. Tong to Of Counsel

STAMFORD, CT – Finn Dixon & Herling LLP, a law firm headquartered in Stamford, with extensive experience providing corporate, transactional, securities, bankruptcy, investment management and litigation counsel, announced that Tanyee Cheung has been elected a partner of the firm, and William Tong has been elevated to Of Counsel.

Ms. Cheung’s practice focuses on commercial finance, including asset based and cash flow lending, secured and unsecured loans, distressed and workout transactions (including DIP and POR financings), and second lien and mezzanine financings. Ms. Cheung represents borrowers, agents, senior lenders and junior lenders in commercial financings.

“Tan has tremendous experience and expertise in leveraged finance and restructurings,” said Michael Herling, administrative partner of the firm. “She is a key member of our finance practice and works closely with our private equity clients on leveraged transactions as well.”

Ms. Cheung is a 1993 graduate of New York University School of Law, a 1990 magna cum laude graduate of Baruch College and a former law clerk to Judge Lowe in the Southern District of New York. She resides in Bayside, New York with her husband Martin and their two sons.

Mr. Tong’s practice involves commercial litigation. He has broad experience representing clients in commercial litigation in federal and state courts, negotiating multi-party settlements, conducting internal investigations and responding to federal and state government investigations. Mr. Tong is a leader of the firm's Dispute Resolution and Risk Management team, and regularly counsels clients on resolving business disputes related to mergers and acquisitions, business torts and employment matters.

In addition to his practice at the firm, Mr. Tong is a State Representative and represents the 147th District (Stamford/New Canaan) in the Connecticut General Assembly.
