Justin Shigemi's practice focuses on the representation of broker-dealers, investment advisers, hedge funds, funds of funds, offshore funds and other investment funds. Mr. Shigemi advises as to all aspects of the fund structuring and formation process, preparation and review of fund offering documents and marketing materials, SEC and state investment adviser registration, FINRA membership and other licensing matters, preparation and negotiation of marketing/introduction agreements, the development and implementation of compliance programs and procedures and ongoing compliance matters.
Prior to joining Finn Dixon & Herling, Mr. Shigemi was an associate at Baker Hostetler LLP, where he had a broad-based practice supporting the firm’s corporate, regulatory and litigation departments.
Mr. Shigemi received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2005, where he was the recipient of the Larry Fleisher Memorial Foundation Prize for extraordinary achievement in the area of Sports and Entertainment Law. He received a B.A., with Honors, from Yale University in 1998. Mr. Shigemi is admitted to practice in the States of Connecticut and New York.
