Rich Gora is an associate in the Commercial Litigation group. Mr. Gora has represented clients in federal and state courts in a variety of commercial litigation matters. He has litigated and defended against issues relating to breach of contract, business torts, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair trade practices, Lanham Act violations, anticompetitive conduct, employment disputes, interpleader, forfeiture, real property boundary disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, piercing corporate veil, fraudulent conveyances and securities fraud.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE:
- Advised Fortune 500 company on potential litigation issues stemming from a $4.5 billion merger
- Defended Fortune 500 company, its subsidiaries and high-level officers and directors in an $80 million securities fraud action stemming from a short-form merger
- Defended privately held exclusive distributor of trademarked product in a $6 million action stemming from allegations of anticompetitive conduct and breach of contract by its former dealer
- Obtained all relief requested after trial for privately held chemical manufacturer in declaratory judgment action and defended against competitor’s multi-million dollar counterclaim for misappropriation of trade secrets
- Represented alleged transferees in $3.3 billion restitution action commenced by the United States
- Represented chief executive officer of Fortune 1000 company on issues related to $5.2 billion acquisition of public company by private investment group
- Litigated through jury trial the employment dispute of former chief executive officer against privately held utility company
- Represented former chief executive officer of privately held company in $7 million action stemming from allegations of breach of fiduciary duty relating to development of 200 acres of real estate in Greenwich, Connecticut
