Reed Balmer’s practice focuses on the representation of registered and unregistered investment advisers, particularly in context unregistered pooled investment entities. Mr. Balmer specializes in of the structuring and management of hedge funds and private equity funds and the registration and compliance of investment advisers. Mr. Balmer has represented investment advisers with a broad variety of strategies, from long-short equity funds to volatility funds with complex options strategies to distressed and special opportunity fixed-income investments, ranging from start-up ventures to large institutions.
Prior to joining Finn Dixon & Herling LLP, Mr. Balmer was an associate at Sidley Austin LLP in their Investment Funds, Advisers and Derivatives Practice Group in New York.
